We recently helped Paddy Cowans family with funeral streaming and recording Paddys Cowans funeral service in Cheltenham. It really was a great pleasure for thousands all in Ireland and indeed all round the world to watch, say they last goodbyes and pay their last respects to this remarkable and much loved man. Please see below to watch the funeral stream of his funeral service which went public a few min the back for all friends and family to watch.
After the live stream we also took some video clips to add to the final video that the video would download and keep forever. Live funeral streamed to over 2000 households

Tributes have come from the fields of politics, entertainment, sport and the community in reaction to the news of the passing of our founder and publisher, Paddy Cowan who died last Tuesday 6 October.
Those who paid tribute to Paddy ranged from the President of Ireland to people from the community. This shows how widely known and well liked Paddy was. His good friend Andrew Carey calls him ‘a man of the people’. Declan Nerney also refers to this quality when she says: “He knew how to converse with a lay man or the Pope for that matter.”
Many mention his great sense of community and his community work which was signified in his hosting of The Irish World Awards to honour achievements in all fields. The awards are counted as one of his greatest achievements by no small number of people paying tribute to him.
Father Brian D’Arcy explains how much an award from award means: “I was lucky enough to get an award from Paddy in the recent past and it was as good as an award from the Queen, to get an award from Paddy because you knew that he meant it and he was genuine.
Never shy to do his bit for community or good causes, former owner of the Galtymore Mike Byrne says, ‘If anyone ever deserved an Irish World Award it was Paddy himself’.
Another thing that comes up again and again is his sense of ‘craic’ and his sense of humour that anyone who knew him knows was a big part of his character.
President of Ireland Michael D Higgins lead the tributes to and Irish community “champion”.
“I was greatly saddened by the news of the death of Paddy Cowan, entrepreneur, publisher of The Irish World, and tireless champion of the Irish community in Britain,” he wrote.
“Sabina and I send our deepest condolences to his wife Sadie, his family, and all those whose lives he touched.”
Adrian O’Neill, Ireland’s Ambassador to the UK hailed Paddy’s “energy and exuberance.”
He wrote: “All of us at the Embassy of Ireland are very sad to hear of the death of Paddy Cowan. He was a man of immense energy and exuberance who was at the heart of the Irish community in Britain for many years. Our sincere sympathy to his wife Sadie, family, friends and all The Irish World. Ar dheis Dè.”
Dan Mulhall, Ireland’s Ambassador to the US wrote from Washington, wrote: “Greta and I are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Paddy Cowan. We got to know him well during our time in London. He was a pillar of the Irish community in Britain and always great company. We send our condolences to his wife, Sadie, and the whole Cowan family.”
Daniel O’Donnell, Margo O’Donnell, Declan Nerney and Nathan Carter were among the those paying tribute to Paddy Cowan for the help they received in launching their careers.
Country singer Margo O’Donnell said: “Paddy will be sorely, sorely missed. He brought Irish music to a new level when he started the paper. He was always there to help no matter what and many times I would have rang Paddy for a bit of advice on things I was doing. He was always there to listen and to help and I’m glad that I knew him in my lifetime. He helped all the Irish artists a great deal, me especially. I’ll miss him and I want to thank him for all the help that he gave me in my career. God rest his soul.”
Her brother Daniel O’Donnell also paid tribute.
“He was always very supportive of all of us in the music industry,” Daniel posted on his Facebook page.
“He was a huge figure in the Irish community in the UK. My deepest sympathy to his wife Sadie and all his family. May he Rest In Peace.”
Catholic beliefs about death
Roman Catholics believe in the afterlife, where a person’s soul lives on after their death, after judgement from God. A soul is judged based on their sins during life and whether they feel remorse for what they’ve done. Catholic funerals are therefore used to pray for the person who has died and support the bereaved in their grief.
What happens before a Catholic funeral service?
After a Catholic person dies, plans can be made for their funeral. Catholics can either be buried or cremated, but the Catholic Church prefers burials. A member of the family can contact a local funeral director to start planning their service.
Before the funeral, the family of the person who has died will hold a small vigil. The vigil can be held at the home of the person who has died, or the church or funeral home. This allows family and close friends to gather before the official funeral service, and say some prayers or hymns.
How long after death is a Catholic funeral?
Catholic funerals usually take place about a week after the person dies. This allows for time to make arrangements with a funeral director.
What is a Catholic funeral service like?
A Catholic funeral service is usually held in a church. Catholic funeral mass typically follows a set format, but can sometimes involve a Requiem Mass: combining the Eucharistic Prayer and Holy Communion.
During the service, the coffin or casket will be placed on a catafalque at the altar.
Catholic funeral readings and prayers
The priest will lead the funeral prayers, which will normally include a reading from the Old Testament, a psalm and a reading from one of the gospels. Sometimes members of family and friends are invited to read a prayer. The priest will also give a eulogy for the person who has died.
If the funeral services includes a Requiem Mass, bread and wine will be placed on the altar for Holy Communion. Catholic mourners will then take Holy Communion, whilst non-Catholics can receive a blessing from the priest
What hymns can be sung at Catholic funeral?
The hymns at a Catholic funeral are usually chosen by the family and sung in between the readings.
Popular hymns for Catholic funerals include ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘Make Me a Channel of Your Peace’ or ‘Ave Maria’. For more ideas, speak to the priest about what hymns they feel are appropriate for the service.
How long does a Catholic funeral service last?
A Catholic funeral service can last between 40 minutes and two hours, depending on if Mass is included in the event.
What happens at a Catholic burial or cremation?
Traditionally, the Catholic Church has preferred its members to choose burial, however, cremation is allowed. If cremation is chosen instead of burial, the ashes should be buried rather than scattered.
Following the Catholic funeral mass, the coffin is moved to the burial ground. The burial or cremation begins with the Catholic Rite of Committal. Prayers are led by a priest, which end with the Catholic version of the Lord’s Prayer. Mourners may then be invited to throw a handful of dirt into the grave.
What do you say at a Catholic funeral?
When attending a Catholic funeral, guests will usually offer condolences to the grieving family. It is common to say “I’m sorry for your loss” and offer some kind words about the person who has died.
When prompted by the priest, you may need to join in with the prayers. If you are a non-Catholic attending the service, you do not need to say anything.
Do you send flowers to a Catholic funeral?
It’s common to send flowers to the family or the funeral home before a Catholic funeral. If you are unsure of where to send flowers to, you could call the family ahead of time.
Appropriate Catholic funeral flowers include:
White roses
Lilies
Carnations
Chrysanthemums
What should I wear to a Catholic funeral?
Like with other Christian funerals, it is expected that people dress conservatively, typically in black. Catholic funerals tend to be sombre, so men should wear black suits and ties. Women should wear smart dresses, skirts or trouser suits. Women should dress respectfully, avoiding short skirts, low cut tops or very high heels.
What happens after a Catholic funeral service?
After the service and burial, the family may arrange for the guests to meet back at the family home or another venue.
Unlike other religions, Catholics don’t have a set mourning period. The family of the person who has died may choose to have a memorial service following the funeral, either a few weeks later or on the first anniversary of the person’s death.
How much does a Catholic funeral cost?
Catholic funeral costs will vary depending on the area you live in and what arrangements you want to make.
The cost of a burial plot varies depending on the size and location of the space, and can be expensive. Cremations will cost less, but you would still need to buy a plot of land for the ashes if you wish to bury them.
Cheltenham (/ˈtʃɛltənəm/) is a large spa town and borough on the edge of the Cotswolds in the county of Gloucestershire, England. Cheltenham became known as a health and holiday spa town resort following the discovery of mineral springs in 1716.
The town hosts several festivals of culture, often featuring nationally and internationally famous contributors and attendees, including the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, the Cheltenham Science Festival, the Cheltenham Music Festival, the Cheltenham Cricket Festival, and the Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival.[1][2] In steeplechase horse racing, the Gold Cup is the main event of the Cheltenham Festival, held every March.

History[edit]
Cheltenham in 1933
Cheltenham stands on the small River Chelt, which rises nearby at Dowdeswell and runs through the town on its way to the Severn.[3] It was first recorded in 803, as Celtan hom; the meaning has not been resolved with certainty, but latest scholarship concludes that the first element preserves a pre-British noun cilta, 'steep hill', here referring to the Cotswold scarp; the second element may mean 'settlement' or 'water-meadow'.[4] As a royal manor, it features in the earliest pages of the Gloucestershire section of Domesday Book[5] where it is named Chintenha[m]. The town was awarded a market charter in 1226.
Though little remains of its pre-spa history, Cheltenham has been a health and holiday spa town resort since the discovery of mineral springs there in 1716. Captain Henry Skillicorne (1678–1763), is credited with being the first entrepreneur to recognise the opportunity to exploit the mineral springs.[6] The retired "master mariner" became co-owner of the property containing Cheltenham's first mineral spring upon his 1732[7] marriage to Elizabeth Mason.[8] Her father, William Mason, had done little in his lifetime to promote the healing properties of the mineral water apart from limited advertising and building a small enclosure over the spring.[6] Skillicorne's wide travels as a merchant had prepared him to see the potential lying dormant on this inherited property. After moving to Cheltenham in 1738, he immediately began improvements intended to attract visitors to his spa. He built a pump to regulate the flow of water and erected an elaborate well-house complete with a ballroom and upstairs billiard room to entertain his customers. The beginnings of Cheltenham's tree-lined promenades and the gardens surrounding its spas were first designed by Captain Skillicorne with the help of "wealthy and traveled" friends who understood the value of relaxing avenues. The area's walks and gardens had views of the countryside, and soon the gentry and nobility from across the county were enticed to come and investigate the beneficial waters of Cheltenham's market town spa.[8]
The visit of George III with the queen and royal princesses in 1788 set a stamp of fashion on the spa.[9] The spa waters can still be sampled at the Pittville Pump Room, built for this purpose and completed in 1830;[10] it is a centrepiece of Pittville, a planned extension of Cheltenham to the north, undertaken by Joseph Pitt, who laid the first stone 4 May 1825.[11]
Cheltenham's success as a spa town is reflected in the railway station, which is still called Cheltenham Spa, and spa facilities in other towns that were inspired by or named after it.[12]
Alice Liddell and Lewis Carroll were regular visitors to a house in Cudnall Street, Charlton Kings – a suburb of Cheltenham. This house was owned by Alice Liddell's grandparents, and still contains the mirror, or looking glass, that was purportedly the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's novel Through the Looking-Glass, published in 1871.[13]
Horse racing began in Cheltenham in 1815, and became a major national attraction after the establishment of the Festival in 1902.[14] Whilst the volume of tourists visiting the spa has declined, the racecourse attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to each day of the festival each year,[15] with such large numbers of visitors having a significant impact on the town.
In the Second World War, the United States Army Services of Supply, European Theatre of Operations established its primary headquarters at Cheltenham under the direction of Lt. Gen. John C. H. Lee, with the flats of the Cheltenham Racecourse[16] becoming a giant storage depot for countless trucks, jeeps, tanks and artillery pieces. Most of this materiel was reshipped to the continent for and after the D-Day invasion. Lee and his primary staff had offices and took residence at Thirlestaine Hall in Cheltenham.[17]
On 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, the borough of Cheltenham was merged with Charlton Kings urban district to form the non-metropolitan district of Cheltenham. Four parishes—Swindon Village, Up Hatherley, Leckhampton and Prestbury—were added to the borough of Cheltenham from the borough of Tewkesbury in 1991.[18]
The first British jet aircraft prototype, the Gloster E.28/39, was manufactured in Cheltenham. Manufacturing started in Hucclecote near Gloucester, but was later moved to Regent Motors in Cheltenham High Street (now the Regent Arcade), considered a location safer from bombing during the Second World War.

“Planning a funeral is difficult enough especially when you are having the added pressure to film it live. Fortunately working in the video production industry myself I knew what I needed to do and when I spoke Darren I felt confident he and his team wouldn’t disappoint.
Nothing was too much trouble to organise and with a complex multi camera and screen set up required Darren pulled it together seamlessly.
On the day he and his team were respectful and professional and to the people that couldn’t be in the main church it enabled them to feel like they were part of the main service. I’d highly recommend”.

More about Funerals here, worth a read
A funeral is a ceremony connected with the final disposition of a corpse, such as a burial or cremation, with the attendant observances.[1] Funerary customs comprise the complex of beliefs and practices used by a culture to remember and respect the dead, from interment, to various monuments, prayers, and ritualsundertaken in their honor. Customs vary between cultures and religious groups. Common secular motivations for funerals include mourning the deceased, celebrating their life, and offering support and sympathy to the bereaved; additionally, funerals may have religious aspects that are intended to help the soulof the deceased reach the afterlife, resurrection or reincarnation.
The funeral usually includes a ritual through which the corpse receives a final dispositon.[2] Depending on culture and religion, these can involve either the destruction of the body (for example, by cremation or sky burial) or its preservation (for example, by mummification or interment). Differing beliefs about cleanliness and the relationship between body and soul are reflected in funerary practices. A memorial service or celebration of life is a funerary ceremony that is performed without the remains of the deceased person.[3]
The word funeral comes from the Latin funus, which had a variety of meanings, including the corpse and the funerary rites themselves. Funerary art is art produced in connection with burials, including many kinds of tombs, and objects specially made for burial like flowers with a corpse.

One of our own stories...
I have recently gone to my uncle’s service. It was a very moving service and a celebration about his life and all the things, he had done. It was tearful but also laughter at the things he did and the way he was. He really was quite a character.
Many of my relatives could not make it to the service, some are too old to safely make it, some were not very able people and others just live in a different part of the world.
They would have loved to have watched the service later that evening the same day or the following day just so they could feel part of the love, laughter and help with closure.
We can help make that happen, We can video, edit and deliver online using the internet so you can send the link to download the film that very day or the nest day. They too can join the amazing gathering of people and the respect listen to the stories.
We don't film the committal unless asked.
We are unobtrusive and very respectful and experienced
